The squashed OSD fonts--at least in Retro-OSD (the one that looks really
bad)--is the same known problem whose cause is unknown but only affects
some X/Freetype configurations. If you comment the <filename> element
of the <font> definition in osd.xml, you'll get good font sizing.

See http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/294597#294597 and
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/dev/295279#295279 .

I would concede that the OSD sizing issue may be related only if someone
with an X config that works without commenting the <filename> element
does not see the OSD sizing issue. Though I don't have the X issue (and
would, therefore, be a perfect candidate for testing), I won't be able
to test until next weekend or early the following week (business trip).
Perhaps someone else would be able to test sometime sooner.

Mike
