It shouldn't be too hard to change the password settings
to allow a NULL hostname, which should make them the same
for all frontends accessing that backend. Untested, though.

A tickbox could be added when the password is set/changed,
which says "Make this password specific to this machine".
It could default to true, to maintain the current behaviour.
