I wanted to stay consistent throughout the theme as far as look/layout
goes. As you've noticed, this theme is is little different then all the
others. All themes I've seen so far just use one background image and
then try to draw appropriate panels on each screen. I tried a different
concept of having 4 panels throughout, top panel for context/help, left
panel for menus, center panel for content and bottom panel for details.
This however creates a lot of wasted space on some screens, in panels
that don't have enough info to display, or not enough space in panels
that have a lot of data to display. The panels in myth are very much
fixed as to what each panel displays and you can't just move it from one
panel to another. You kind of have to get down and dirty with the theme
creation to understand better why things are what they are. If I had a
better understanding before, I'd probably just do what everybody else
did and go with one single image concept. As I already started the other
way, my priority is to finish it, and the wasted space/not enough space
is just a price to pay for using my skin, but there is no way around it.
If it's a problem, then just use another theme. I'll try to improve the
theme, perhaps try not to be so strict and consistent on all screens,
but that won't happen until I finish the theme with the current layout.
