[mythtv] "Automatic" transcoding after adding cut-points?

Thanks, but I cannot find much information on mythtranscode. And my request
for something that will take a recording honour the cut list and replace the
original recording (.mpg) file with a trimmed down version does not seem to
be easy to do without writing a new myth tool that will fixup the database
entry so the duration of the recording etc. is updated. Am I wrong?
