I use xine for all DVD playing (ISO or not).  If a recording starts or
stops while I'm watching a DVD, the video can freeze for as much as 10
seconds sometimes with the internal player.  Sorta embarrassing when
friends are over.  Until I can put the database on a separate spindle,
using a "leaner" external player is the only reliable way of watching
movies.  And xine takes up less space in my entertainment cabinet than
my old dvd player did :)
