I use xine for DVD ISO images (does the internal player handle ISO yet?)
and also for DivX with external subtitles and/or non 4:3 aspect ratio -
xine lets me choose which subtitle file to pick up and what character
decoding to use when displaying it as well as force the correct aspect
ratio (I got a bunch of SVCD resolution DivX files - i.e. 352x576 where
I want to force 4:3 aspect ratio).

The internal player could handle all of this if there were command line
parameters for specifying the subtitle file, its encoding and the aspect
ratio.
