yeah, you're right I misread your description. sorry.

But there is very little that can be done.
Inposing a multiple seconds long delay until the backend has finished 
the reschedule is at least as bad as the current behaviour.
And your wrong then you say "never record" doesn't work, it does work.

The time of one schedule run doesn't depend that much on the cpu but 
more on available memory and disk speed of the database.
