Yep, I have the same problem.  For viewing the actual videos its not 
that big a deal -- TV shows are produced knowing there will be 
overscan.  I forget the details (or even the fancy name for it), but 
there is actually a spec for what percent of the screen can be expected 
to be seen on all TVs.

However, I have yet to find any theme (esp. OSD) which does not get some 
portion chopped off.  I've almost made an overscan safe theme a hundred 
times, but I don't use MythTV as my primary TV source so I haven't been 
pushed over the edge to learn how (yet?).
