[mythtv] Fast Forward broken and shows not flagged

I figured mine out - it was the DST change. My backend machine got
patched (to make sure the shows recorded at the right time), but not the
frontend. I hadn't run a emerge world on it in some time, cause if it
ain't broke, don't fix it ;-)

The frontend uses the channel and the time to identify the show you're
watching and looks the commercial skip information up in the
recordedmarkup table. If the time is off, the keyframes and channel
info will not be properly read and the frontend gets confused about
playing the show back.

The Gentoo instructions say to copy the timezone information file from
/usr/share/zoneinfo to /etc/localtime. It really should be a link...
i.e. ln -s /usr/share/zoneinfo/America/Denver /etc/localtime.

I don't know if the DST change will be the root cause of your problem,
but it sounds like you're having problems finding the right show in
recordedmarkup...

I have the same Problem since some time. I run a Gentoo system, too. But

I have Back- and Frontend on one PC.

Kernel: 2.6.19-r5
mythtv: 0.20_p12172 from gentoo portage.
TV-Card: one saa7134 based Card and one Nova-T
