I applied both patches last night and recorded two long movies. Both 
seemed to record OK (am checking from work so can't watch them but 
thumnails appeared OK and the file sizes are suitibly large!). Certainly 
no segfaults :)

Thanks Janne and everyone else who worked on this.

I'll post a wee message on the ticket too.

Obviously can't say for certain that it's fixed from this test as it may 
have been a fluke but I've not been able to record anything like this 
length of program for a while, so it looks good.
