My interest Is probably more in the control of the front ends, via remote
devices such as www.mynevo.com, so perhaps there is good grounds for me to
have a look into things over the next few days and see where things are and
what I could perhaps do to help out?

I know what you mean about work getting in the way of More Interesting
Work...!

I am the developer that has been implementing the UPnP protocol in MythTV.

At this point, I have been focusing on the backend only. I am mostly
interested in media discovery and streaming for dedicated upnp players. I
do have plans to support scheduling and other aspects of the whole MythTv
Experience. However, I don't currently use MythFrontend, so haven't had the
drive to make it a UPnP Client (control point/renderer).

There have not been any updates in a while, and most likely won't be any
(except bug fixes if needed) for a couple more months. My day job has me
working 60-80 hours a week. We have a release happening in December, and
until my work lets up, I can only monitor the Dev List and IRC.

UPnP support is something that I really want working well, and plan on
bringing it up to true standards compliance when I do finally have time to
work on it. (It is currently only a partial implementation and allows a
handful of client devices to work).

David.
