OK, I'll look into enumerating the libvisual plugins and having them as 
individual specifiers in the configuration page. I think that would be a 
small amount of work and would get the patch to a position where it could 
reasonably be applied if so desired. I accept that configuration via source 
file modification isn't exactly user friendly ;-)

As for the activity/worthiness of the libvisual library, I wouldn't like to 
make too strong a representation. I hadn't even heard of it until a week or 
so ago. Although I would say that the version 0.4.0 appears to have been 
released in March of this year and I believe the code has no other extraneous 
dependencies (I didn't have to install anything extra on my PC to compile 
it), which is more than I can say for the actual visualisation plugins 
themselves.

Once I've knocked up some form of enumeration code I'll produce a new patch 
and perhaps re-open the ticket (if that's acceptable?).
