[mythtv] What I want MythTV to do!! Any suggestions??

Hi

I would like MythTV to play regular cable TV but at intervals I would like
it to play content I have stored as video files instead of the TV signal.
After my video files have played it should automatically switch back to the
channel it was playing before. I would like to schedule my content playlists
to play at certain intervals throughout the day.

I would also like to rip DVDs to HDD and store them as content I can play at
will or scheduled in play lists like before.

I don't need to record anything off the cable signal but I have a set top
box with Composite out and RCA audio outs. The cable signal will come via
that.

I need someone to please help me setup a system like that (hardware and
source changes) or point me in the right directions when I need help.
