It was compiled on this machine with automatic CPU detecton:

model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe pni monitor ds_cpl cid xtpr

CPU x86 (model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz)
Big Endian no
MMX enabled yes
Vector Builtins yes

And I used it on IBM Thinkpad:

model name : Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr mce cx8 sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss tm pbe est tm2

I recompiled it with --disable-mmx

MMX enabled no

Yes, without MMX it works like before without any problems.

No, I play regular MPEG2 content to normal OSS sound device. Should I
test it with ALSA? (I need to use another PC for that)

Anything more I can tray?
