I noticed this when playing with an Ubuntu livecd recently.

I also can't remember the details now, but basically there are some
funny corner cases here which stop you getting this perfectly correct.
It's something like UDF being used for certain CD's being used for drag
and drop recording and it being OK under some circumstances to use
iso9660 for DVDs? Can't recall the details now

In any case it just seems perverse to deliberately NOT add a 2 line
patch to workaround such an easy issue!!

After all, it's just a quick "mount, check the filesystem, unmount"
check at this point anyway - we don't do any work other than detecting
if there is a DVD in the drive. I then fire up Xine and it plays the
thing fine even without an fstab entry! Could be argued that the fault
comes back to myth for mounting the thing incorrectly itself - after all
Xine isn't confused no matter what I stick in fstab!

Please just chuck in the two line fix and put a documentation note
against the issue. The conclusion of the test is *correct* with the
patch, even if the process is slightly incorrect. Likewise without the
patch the conclusion of the test is wrong and we misclassify real DVDs
as something else. It hardly seems worth the trouble to NOT fix it??!
