[mythtv] SVN ~8742 LiveTV "Error was encountered while displaying video." between shows?

I am getting this problem nearly all the time I try and watch live
TV. Not between shows, and generally there is nothing I can do about
it except start recording what I want to watch then go to the
recording section and watch it like that. So recording are working fine.
I have however found some details in the front end log that are
relevant :-

I have plenty of disc space and both the frontend and backend are
running us the mythtv user.
