just wanted to let you guys know I'm having the same problem for over a month. 
I'm currently using 8728 and the problem is still there. Let me know if I can 
do anything. I also commented on the trac that in my case it's not only the 
fonts that disappear pixel by pixel, but the bottom edge of the OSD (at least 
in isthmus) is shifting upwards and the right edge is shifting to the left 
over time. The font disappearing issue I tested on isthmus and blueosd.
I'm sing a small 12 font for OSD. I'm running mostly DVB and my resolution is 
1280x720. I also always resize to 16:9
