[mythtv] Questions about mfd...

When i will write a Plugin for Mythtv wich does a action every 5 Minutes in the background, then i think the mfd is the right way for it ???

Can the mfd also send actions to the mythfrontend so, if my background plug for the mfd must send a messaege to the frontend???
