Having my library organized with iTunes (iPod sync), I use the following tag
structure:
- Title - movement name and number (ex - "I. Allegro")
- Artist - performer (orchestra for orchestral works, soloist for solo
works)
- Composer - composer
- Album - Work
- Grouping - Album Name
- Track number - movement number
- BPM - opus number
- Comments - mainly includes conductor, soloist (for orchestral works
such as concerti) or accompanist (for x+piano works)
I find using that structure just makes everything work properly for both
sorting in iTunes and on my iPod. If Mythmusic could utilize such a
structure it would not be short of amazing. Some heirarchies that could
work:
- Composer - Album - Title (sorted by track number)
- Artist - Composer - Album - Title
- Composer - Album (sorted by BPM) - Title
Just a suggestion, but I think it would work well. Maybe an option
somewhere to figure between popular and classical view?
