I am using ivtv 8.2 with my debian based mythtv setup. I use a hauppauge
pvr-350 with the x framebuffer driver for TV-output and hardware decoding
for recording playback. After rebuilding my system with a newer kernel and
drivers, I've been having some trouble with the hardware playback. After a
fresh boot the hardware playback works fine. But if I use try to use the
hardware playback after the box has sat idle for several hours it fails.

Here are some ivtv warrinings I see repeated in dmesg. They show up even
while the hardware playback is working:

Dec 22 21:03:25 mythtv kernel: ivtv0-osd warning: ivtvfb_check_var
Dec 22 21:03:25 mythtv kernel: ivtv0-osd warning: ivtvfb_set_par

And here are the errors I see repeated when the hardware playback refuses to
work:

Dec 22 21:34:00 mythtv kernel: ivtv0 warning: prep_user_dma: SG_length 336
page_count 336 still full?
Dec 22 21:34:00 mythtv kernel: ivtv0-osd warning:
ivtvfb_prep_dec_dma_to_device, Error with get_user_pages: 65536 bytes, 336
pages returned
Dec 22 21:34:00 mythtv kernel: ivtv0-osd warning: Error: prep osd dma to
device rc=-5
Dec 22 21:34:00 mythtv kernel: ivtv0-osd warning: DMA xfer from b7b0d808 of
65536 bytes failed with (-5) offset = 0x141800, total 1382400

Is DMA the root cause of this failure? If so what particular setting could
be causing DMA to act up? The hardware use to be rock solid for three
months with no reboot.
