I wouldn't recommend using innodb instead of myisam for mythtv. I tried
it for my sins, and it was somewhat unsuccessful.
The worst problem was the filemarkup table. The select at the start of
watching a video to retrieve all of the seek positions was so much
slower that the 30s timeout for the video playback to start was kicking
in and I couldn't watch a whole bunch of videos.
