Hmmm, I think I know what the problem is here. The program
number isn't set until the channel is really set the first
time, so if the STB is off when you start running mythbackend
it won't enter LiveTV correctly. But if you turn off the
STB after mythbackend is started it works.

What STB are you using? My SA 4200HD appears to accept
channel changes immediately after it reports being on.
