Channel numbers are the way you tell Myth which channel to watch in
LiveTV, so if they're not unique, you'd have no way to specify a change
to the desired channel.

Automatically? Won't that mean users won't know which channels are
which? If they don't change it should just be a one-time set up (which
can be done very quickly through MythWeb's channel editor).
