I don't know it the ability to specify it in the theme for mytharchive is yet 
possible, but this is one of the things I was working on for Myth itself and 
Paul had in principle agreed to support in Mytharchive when I was finished.

I got a little distracted by other jobs but I plan on finishing it sooner 
rather than later. In addition to other neat things, it will allow you to 
specify the exact position of chapter marks in the same manner that you now 
edit a recording or set a pre-configured chapter interval. This can be used 
by mytharchive when exporting to DVD.

It will also allow the automatic or manual specification of chapter images for 
use in a chapter selection menu (myth or DVD).
