Ah no... If xine, mplayer etc all had the smae problem, AND X was
chewing up CPU I'd agree with you. But xine, mplayer etc are fine. And X
now uses up LESS CPU than the 6.8.2 version did when they're running.
(Was around 20%, They run now with around 10% usage by X).

glxgears is faster with xorg 7 on mine because I've gone from software
GL to DRI (r300).
