Agreed. Though I _could_ use the channel buttons for up/down
navigation, I usually don't. Instead, I use the navigation buttons
for, well, navigation (and usually not for channel changing).

On my Time Warner digital box, pressing CHUP while in the guide
changes the channel up one from the channel I'm currently on. (e.g.
I'm on ch 148. I press GUIDE, then CHUP. The guide disappears and the
channel changes to ch 149.)

Interesting.  So if you press CHUP/CHDOWN while not in the guide, what
happens? Does the option change how _that_ works, or does it simply
change the display of the guide?
