Yep, there are only two places for the video mode, one global and one
for each channel. You start in the global mode, and switch to the
channel's mode when you switch to the channel.

This is probably because the PVR-250 cards can't switch to ATSC,
so they stay in the default of NTSC.

Actually, with Firewire input I don't think the video mode matters.
I think it only matters with V4L cards. I think it would make a lot
of sense to have a per-source default. In fact the global mode should
probably only be used to set the initial value for the per-source default.

Unfortunately, since this is easy enough to work around this isn't
high on anyone's work queue. If you implemented this though, I'd
gladly commit it.

BTW I believe the per-channel defaults are used in countries like
Belgium where you can get both SECAM and PAL channels over-the-air.
