    Yes this is deliberate.  The new behavior is to display the "status" 
osd first.  A second press of the info key switches to the 
"program_info" osd.  The info button now displays status then toggles 
between status and program_info.  Check tv_play.cpp TV::DoInfo() if 
you're interested in the code.
