It's not (supposed to).  What version on you on (specific SVN rev if

Chris Pinkham just implemented a DB settings cache in [7811] ( 
http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/changeset/7811 ); however, the cache is 
cleared every time the user goes into the frontend settings.  Therefore, 
since before the change the setting was read from the database every 
time, and after the change the cache is cleared every time you go into 
the frontend settings, it should have picked up the change.  However, I 
have a couple theories of what might have happened.  I just need a bit 
more info.

Do you have a remote frontend?  If so, are you running the exact same 
rev of Myth on your frontend and backend?
