[mythtv] EIT data transmitted in UTF8?

Recently epg data from my dvb-c card started to have strange characters in
it.
I did a dvbsnoop of the EIT data and it looks like ComHem have started to
transmit the guide data UTF8 encoded.
When mythtv inserts it into the database it converts the data to UTF8 a
second time, resulting in those wierd characters.

dvbsnoop says the charset is "Latin alphabet no. 5", but that can't be true.

What's the best way of handling this in mythtv?
