I think that the chanel up/down behavior of changing
the channels is good.

Sometimes one of the two situations happens for me:
1. I hit one off the proper channel number I meant to
use (i.e., I hit 37 instead of 38), so channel up/down
is quicker than actually punching in the correct
number
2. Sometimes there's a baseball game on both ESPN and
ESPN2, and I flip between then. ESPN is channel 38
and ESPN2 is channel 39 in my cable lineup. Again,
why enter two digits, when one button is nice and
easy?

Then again, I seem to use the LiveTV feature more than
most people.

While I agree that channel surfing using MythTV is
painful (due to the design), it's not necessarily
stupid. Some people just like to inflict more pain on
themselves than necessary. :)
