at least you gave the bug report more attention than isaac
the configure script has a routine "has_header"
which assume a fixed set of header locations
gentoo installs kde headers somewhere else
now it could be argued that gentoo does the wrong thing
that might be a valid point of view
my suggestion was that the configuration script should be more general
i suggested automake/autoconf
i will make a gentoo patch for the configure script so that i can build
mythbrowser
as for QTDIR - it is a KDE header that it has trouble with (khtml_part.h)
