Is the current functionality insufficient for your needs?  You can page 
backwards and forwards by day using the 1/7 keys, up and down by page of 
channels within the displayed time using the 3/9 keys and left and right by 
page of times within the displayed channels using the </> keys (mapped to 
rew/fwd on my remote).  That means, given a standard EPG layout of 5 channels 
by 2 hours, that you can page through all 13 days of the guide with 12 
keystrokes, through 40 channels (my local basic cable count) with 7 
keystrokes and through the hours in a day with 11 keystrokes.  Some method of 
direct jumping to a specific day/hour might be more direct but would it be 
more intuitive with significantly fewer keystrokes?
