The internal player is used by quite a few people now.  Most notably the 
PVR350 out users.  Changing the behavior is going to require an 
implementation that doesn't break things for existing users.  I've often 
said that there's got to be some rule in the specs for determining which 
audio track to use, someone just needs to do the leg work to figure it 
out.  It's not been a priority for me (though it sounds like it might be 
one for you at this point).

If you'd like to submit a bugzilla entry for this I can try and take a 
look at it in the near timeframe but I can't promise anything, I've got 
too many balls in the air right now.
