I'm thinking that I never tried going directly into my 720p channel, because 
with this patch applied, I now get acceptable playback on that channel as 
well (still tinkering with filters and xrandr, don't have everything perfect, 
but ABC works worlds better now). The audio on my CBS station still tweaks 
out every time you go to it first, but is always perfect when you change to 
it from another channel. Which I could live with, except for the fact that 
every recording on that channel ends up w/fubarred audio. (And I record a LOT 
of CBS...)
