Another thing I just noticed:

First time after starting frontend I get this line:
2004-10-25 22:48:55 Audio format changed from 0 channels, 48000hz to 2 channels 48000hz

I play the same file repeatedly, when audio works I get this line:
2004-10-25 22:48:55 Audio format changed from 3801136 channels, 48000hz to 2 channels 48000hz

When it doesn't work it does not display the 'Audio format changed'
line (See previous log).
