Then I'd guess the new code needs the nVidia 5336 drivers, which totally 
break the old-style nVidia vsync.  It would guess it will work (and the 
old code won't) on the forthcoming nVidia driver that supports 
interlaced output.

Does 'glxinfo | grep GLX_SGI_video_sync' give you anything?
