Unless I'm missing something here, I can't see why you're asking this question.
The TV inputs are always controlled by the backend, and the frontend talks to the
backend, no matter if it's on the same machine or a different machine.
(I do run 0.14 at home with a DVB-T card in one machine, and watch
tv on the same machine or another PC on the lan).
