(anyone else had occasional hangs when trying to delete recordings
and/or found that the delete recording option doesn't work, no errors,
without restarting the front end?)
Last night I got reports that mythtv crashed after changing channel to
a "channel that doesn't correspond with any known channel available
here". I am guessing that he got one of the extra channels available
for DVB, not available for analog, but not sure.
Anyway, the logs say:
Audiostream: Layer: 1 BRate: 192 kb/s Freq: 32.0 kHz
Videostream: ASPECT: 16:9 Size = 720x576 FRate: 25 fps BRate: 10.00 Mbit/s

...this continued all night until I restarted the backend:
2004-05-05 08:07:26 DVB#0 WARNING - No data from card in 1 second.
2004-05-05 08:07:27 DVB#0 WARNING - No data from card in 1 second.

2004-05-05 08:07:31 DVB#0 WARNING - No data from card in 1 second.
This immediately had me puzzled too, it normally uses the analog card
(PVR350) as first preference for live TV, but here it is using DVB??
Today after restarting the front-end, the above warnings were still
being logged. I restarted the back-end too, and tried viewing live
TV. It stopped at a black screen, with the following error on the
backend:
2004-05-05 08:15:19 MainServer::HandleAnnounce Playback
2004-05-05 08:15:19 adding: snoopy as a client (events: 0)

2004-05-05 08:15:19 Changing from None to WatchingLiveTV
2004-05-05 08:15:35 Couldn't read data from the capture card in 15 seconds. Game over, man.
2004-05-05 08:15:40 Changing from WatchingLiveTV to None
error reading from: /dev/video0
read: Input/output error
so it would appear that the analog card has died until the next
reboot. No doubt a different problem...
