[mythtv] Frontend hangs on jump, ffwd, then pause

When playing back a recording, if I jump ahead (5 minutes
in my config), enable fast forward mode (not using sticky
keys), let it run for a few seconds, then pause it, the
frontend locks (X still responsive). The same thing happens
if I jump back, enable rewind mode for a few seconds, then
pause.

Nothing is indicated in the logs at the point of failure -
just repeated "waiting for prebuffer... prebuffer wait
timed out" while ffwd is running.

MythTV 0.14 on RH9 (frame grabber card)
