i would like to chime in and say that this is a  quickfire way of ensuring
that mythtv will be branded as a project with legal burdens which
would be enough to scare away a lot of us wanting to setup a
"family-clean" project at home.

since the code is gpl, you are free to do whatever with it. but i would
like to request that my name be removed from the copyright messages
present in the source code and the readme.
