well maybe i'm overstating things but...

i have an epia-m9000 on which i'm running myth (cvs as of a couple of days
ago). i want to develop my own theme. because i'm displaying on a tv which is
overscanning, a lot of the gui is off screen.

in order to help me when designing my theme i developed a set of backgrounds
with calibration marks in the corners so i could see what area is available
fo gui elements.

i know about action safe areas and title safe areas, but also know that this
is not really an exact science.

if anybody is interested the backgrounds are on
http://www.teilifis.com/backgrounds/

they are in 4 sizes: 720x576 (PAL), 720x480 (NTSC), 800x600 and 1024x768.

they were created with fireworks. i tried with gimp but gave up rather fast.
they might be of use to someone.

putting them into an existing theme is interesting. none that i know of were
designed with overscan in mind.

regards
