Three things could be different from a user perspective:
* RTC may use slightly more CPU
* Depending on the video driver/settings, RTC could show tearing
* OpenGL will cope better when the display refresh frequency is not 
precisely matched to the video framerate (fewer periodic glitches)

Good to hear.  Though since you're using HDTV on similar equipment to 
mine, that's what I expected.
