They should be applied in any case where the decoded video is shown through
mythtv, and not some overlay. So it should work fine for XvMC, but not full
decoding w/overlay or other output (pvr350? I'm not sure how far along that
support is). It's probably just best to use the invert filter, then you can
be sure :)
