My system also has a nVidea AGP 128mb, SB audigy gamer card and 512mb ram. I thought the Hauppauge cards were well supported with linux but this is a new lowend card. It is PCI TV tuner with digital decoder and capture capabilities but the box only mentioned support for winblows systems :( Would be nice If I could add this $40 card from Frys and use the mythtv capabilities :)

If the card is based on the BT848 or BT878 chips then it will work just
fine. However, if like you state its a recent card it is quite possibly
based on the CX23880/1 chip, support for that chip is sketchy at best.

current state / known issues
Only the very basic video capture stuff works so far. No vbi yet, no
alsa/oss yet, no IR remote support yet, ...
---

Everything else in that box should be supported with no problem. Best
thing to do is grab the driver from the bytesex.org site and check out
the 'Cards' file in there.

If you already have the card and its installed in the machine a simple
/sbin/lspci should tell you if its a BT chip or a CX chip. Mine for
instance states this:

02:01.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video
Capture (rev 11)
02:01.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture
(rev 11)

Cheers
