Are you saying that installing the lib in a system directory without
running ldconfig works as it currently stands?  I'd be surprised since
I can't see how you can expect subverting the ldcache to ever work,
but if so, I'll take a look and see if I come up with a way to work
around this situation as well.

Not surprisingly I don't see this since one has to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH
when installing into a non-system prefix.

I think the patches are correct.  FWIW, I sent in analogous ones for
the rest of myth some time ago.
