[mythtv] How to integrate streaming content

What if instead of a new module, a software pseudo "tuner" was created, 
such that you could schedule these feeds as if they were video input 
from a TV tuner?   If something like this were created, then "tuners" 
for webcasts, internet radio, etc could all be done using a common 
interface.
