A problem with the scheduler code in Saturday's CVS version of MythTV:

When the scheduler runs, it soaks up all the CPU in a un-niced thread for
quite a long time (probably up to about 30 seconds). This leads to any
recording that's happening (MPEG4 recorded off a bttv card) to drop a lot
of frames and complain about running out of audio buffers. Another side
effect of the scheduler taking a long time to run is that the frontend
seems to time out after a while if it's waiting on some data from the
scheduler (e.g. if I go into the "Fix Scheduling Conflicts" screen while
the scheduler is running).

I think the scheduler should get niced to prevent it from breaking ongoing
recordings. Not sure about the amount of time it takes - under 0.14 the
data in the Fix Conflicts screen would be updated within about 5 seconds
of making a change, which was much quicker.

My program table contains about 58,000 programs (that's 14 day's worth
of listings) and the record table contains about 90 records.
