I thought that might be the case.  If more than one *exists* at a time, with 
only one being used actively, there will still be a small amount of memory 
saved.  If there's never more than one object in existence, there's no memory 
saved, and the only benefit (probably not visible at all) would come from not 
having to fill the table in the constructor.
