That might be a good idea, the performance impact is small compared to 
other filters.  Any code that does this should make sure that there is 
not already an adjust filter at the head of the filter chain (in case 
the user wants a custom gamma setting, etc).  If somebody can give me 
some pointers on detecting card types, I can take a look at adding this 
tonight.
